Marketing Technology Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Technology Manger to lead and evolve the marketing technology stack for the Trane Residential HVAC and Supply business unit. The Marketing Technology Manager integrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop and execute the marketing technology strategy and drive innovation to deliver on business objectives and growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing business needs and partnering with IT, suppliers, product, and marketing teams to recommend, implement and optimize marketing technologies and solutions.
The Marketing Technology Manager will embrace a culture that focuses on the customer experience, grows technology focus within the business, uses data driven insights and is an avid learner. The successful candidate is tech savvy with expertise in CMS, CRM, demand generation and other marketing technology platforms and possess a passion for working with cross functional teams to evaluate and implement vital technologies that drive profitable growth.
There is a preference to fill in Davidson, NC, Raleigh, NC, La Crosse, WI, or Tyler, TX but we may consider fully remote.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and align marketing objectives, develop technology strategies, and create tech stack roadmaps to assure they meet strategic and tactical needs.
- Manage and own marketing automation (Marketo) and CRM (Salesforce) integrations, set the strategic vision from concept through enablement and support internal technology training.
- Manage projects to develop and implement new marketing tools, including sales enablement, customer portals, content management and product information management (PIM) solutions.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, supplier partners and other key stakeholders to establish timelines, budgets, resources and ensure the delivery of project goals and requests.
- Identify time-consuming or inefficient processes and develop reliable solutions to automate them.
- Manage and support projects that include integrating new technologies, optimize existing processes, support new features, business process reviews, etc.
- Participate and represent marketing team needs on the enterprise marketing technology council
- Partner with IT, procurement, and marketing support agencies to evaluate technologies, build statements of works and develop project plans to implement technology within the organization.
- Drive governance of marketing technology platforms and tools by implementing standard work and reinforcing IT data and security policies and guidelines.
- Document standard work for marketing technology processes and methodologies, including support, maintenance, standardization, scoring, nurturing, routing, segmentation, etc.
- Work with internal stakeholders and supplier partners to increase tech stack maturation, facilitate internal user adoption, and conduct detailed evaluations to support technology implementations.
- Serve as business unit’s subject matter expert and thought leader in using marketing technology to advance marketing goals for strategic growth and competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
- Experience in systems development and planning methodologies for executing application development, specifically around Marketo and Salesforce.
- Strong collaboration skills working with project and business managers to drive scope, requirements gathering and develop business requirements documentation.
- Proven history working with developers, designers, and cross functional business stakeholders in both technical and marketing disciplines.
- Broad understanding of marketing technology methodologies and tools, including web analytics, tag management, multi-variant testing, dynamic media, and marketing automation platforms.
- Basic understanding of relational databases and platform integration approaches.
- Consultative and inquisitive with a proven track record of defining business problems and providing/implementing recommended solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to explain data, technology and insights to non-technical audiences and leadership.
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies to grow into the marketing technology space
- Self-motivated and creative person with analytics, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt quickly based on prioritizations.
- Marketing acumen with a strong project management skillset and keen attention to detail.
- Experience in various methodologies for planning and executing application development such as data mapping, process flow diagrams; execute performance reports and analyze KPI’s and goals.
Key Competencies:
- BS/BA degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree a plus)
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Marketing Technology platforms and development management
- 5+ years relevant technical and project management experience
- Experience supporting multiple projects and work-streams simultaneously and balancing priorities for successful outcomes
- Experience developing and executing marketing technology strategies and roadmaps
- Experience using marketing automation and CRM platforms and leading integration projects (Marketo and Salesforce experience preferred)
- Experience navigating complex organizations, creative problem solving and rapid experimentation
- Experience using and rolling out a Product Information Management (PIM) system preferred
- Experience with Adobe suite (including AEM and DAM) is preferred
- Proven communication skills with marketing and leadership audiences
