Tech Lead - CFD
Job Summary:
CFD team in Trane Technologies- Bangalore will support design activities for various Trane businesses through analysis. Tech Lead- CFD has to apply his/her computational, experimental, and analytical fluid dynamics and heat transfer knowledge to support the design activities at various stages of the project. He/She will interact with different SBU stakeholders, mentor less experienced engineers, and will be accountable for the quality and timeliness of the deliverables. He/She is required to contribute individually in modeling, analysis, and documentation.
- Delivering high impact global projects via independent contributions and mentoring.
- Understand the project requirements, plan and execute the projects with quality and in agreed-upon timelines.
- Assume responsibilities for the execution and delivery of assigned CFD projects with less supervision.
- Serves as a technical mentor to less experienced engineers
- Provide solutions to complex problems using his computational, experimental, and analytical skills.
- Work on high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Support and develop the long and short term plan of the CFD team by developing new competencies
- Should be working with cross-functional and product teams on providing the design solutions
- Work with global stakeholders to win their trust and confidence.
- Develop standard practices and suggest new analysis methodologies for improving the CFD predictions.
- Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Leverages a technical network to collaborate across organizations/disciplines
Qualifications:
Masters in Mechanical, Thermal, Aerospace or Applied Mechanics (or closely related field) with Fluid Mechanics/Heat transfer and CFD as a major area of research/work. He/she should have at least 7 years of experience in the above-mentioned areas.
Key Competencies:
- Great depth in CFD especially in the areas of bluff body aerodynamics, internal aerodynamics, heat transfer, aeroacoustics, combustion, and multiphase simulations.
- Hands-on experience on CFD tool preferably CFX, Fluent, FloEFD or OpenFoam
- Experience in aero-acoustic modeling
- Theoretical knowledge of numerical methods, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
- Knowledge of programming languages and proven examples of improving productivity using various scripts.
- Experience in the HVAC industry is desirable.
- Experience in battery thermal management is desirable.
- Knowledge of AI/ML, IIOT, and digital twin is preferred.
- Wind tunnel testing of components, units, and field testing is desirable.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills required.
- Project management skills and tools.
- Should be able to work in a matrix team environment, able to influence peers, and work for the common objectives
