Associate Tech Lead - Product Engineer
The scope of this position involves leading a team to perform all aspects of product and process testing. This includes planning, execution, analysis and documentation of tests assigned. The primary measure of this position is the ability to plan & conduct tests that can be appropriately used to demonstrate the effectiveness of product and process designs in meeting customer requirements. This requires an ability to create logical and empirical linkages between real-world conditions and the controlled conditions created in the Test Lab. Technical familiarity with the HVAC & Transport Refrigeration industry is a plus.
This role will focus on system-level testing of our TRANE & Thermo King products. Product evaluations focus on areas of Refrigeration, Controls, Electrical and Mechanical (including airflow) performance. Need the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams spread across multiple geographical regions. This requires strong project planning/management and organizational skills.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
- Provide coaching and direction to Test Technicians to meet testing deliverables.
- Review data and write test reports for engineering summarizing the outcome of testing results.
- Maintain the integrity of engineering systems, encouraging adherence and creation of standard work.
- Perform advanced engineering support functions including, but not limited to DFMEA (Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) and DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report) collaboration with engineering project teams.
- Provide coaching/feedback to engineering project teams on Design Validation Plans (test planning) and Risk evaluation.
- Maintain awareness of industry standards and best practices, particularly in the areas of technology and safety.
- Establish and maintain metrics appropriate to the performance of their area.
- Provide ongoing technical training to the engineering community and others, as needed.
- Recognize future testing needs and drive strategies and improvement projects accordingly.
- Experienced in the design and development of test infrastructure for HVAC products and components.
- Experience in maintaining & operating the test lab infrastructure including breakdown maintenance, calibration of sensors & DAQ system.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of engineering work experience, including at least 2 years in test lab management.
