The Cloud Solutions Architect will be at the forefront of Trane Technologies Infrastructure team. This role will be focused on the strategic and transformational architecture efforts of cloud computing. It will continue to help lead us on our cloud transformation journey and will have responsibility for solutioning the Cloud strategy across the enterprise. As a cloud solutions architect you will work closely our Enterprise Architecture, Security and other IT teams where you collaborate on target state architecture and lead it through implementation to support our business growth. You will also work with our partner network to oversee the smooth operations of the environment.

Responsibilities: 

• Principal accountabilities of this role include taking the executive cloud vision and making it a reality, while overseeing the cloud adoption and governance process.
• Documenting and performing evaluations of cloud technology standards, tools, products, and solutions, and working closely with business and technology stakeholders to make rational design decisions.
• Optimize our current usage of the cloud environment.
• Lead implementation through to operation of a cloud environment overall conducive to good business practices, quality and cost improvements, multi-directional communications and acceptance of business objectives.
• Work with IT Security to design and develop security architectures for cloud and cloud/hybrid-based systems.
• Manage budget appropriately to achieve goals.
• Provide thought leadership and mentoring

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of proven and progressive experience in IT.
• 3+ years experience hands-on experience with cloud architectures, including the architectural design and deployment of cloud solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Up to 10% travel possible in the future

Key Competencies: 

• Experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework.
• Familiarity with service design and pricing in the context of cloud-based solutioning.
• Have a professional cloud solutions architect certification.
• Experience with cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, database architecture, virtualization, software design, networking, DevOps, DevSecOps and Microsoft and Unix operating systems.
• Experience of working with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud and/or Google Cloud.
• Strategic Planning: Proficient in developing and implementing strategic plans.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to lead conversations at levels ranging from individual contributor to IT Leadership Team.

This role has been designated as Remote within a Geography.  While most work can be done remotely, there are geographical travel and time-zone considerations.  Shared touch-down workspace available on-site.  *The Company reserves the right to modify this designation should business needs require.
