Job Summary:
Associate Tech Lead will work as part of the Electrical Engineering team and have responsibility for the design and development of Electrical Subsystems for various product lines (New Product Developments (NPD), Quality improvement, and Productivity projects).  The role will have a strong focus on new technologies, processes and applying these technologies to various product lines.

Responsibilities: 
  • Design and Development of Electrical/Electronic solutions for HVAC & Transport Refrigeration systems, working in conjunction with internal Subject Matter Experts (SME) and external experts, delivering solutions that meet all project scope requirements, including Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Service (DFS).
  • Development, implementation, and coordination of component/system validation plans in R&D test facilities in conjunction with the Test and Reliability teams, using systematic methodologies, such as DFMEA and performance modeling.
  • Create detailed documentation of Electrical / Electronic components, including detailed specification drawings and Application Specification Documents.
  • Co-ordination of any required regulatory testing of Electrical / Electronic solutions at external agencies, including HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Test), EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) testing, as required per regulatory standards
  • Knowledge and ability to work within New Product Development (NPD) Process, with an innate understanding of documented prerequisites and Milestone deliverables.
  • Liaison with Controls & Software Development groups to develop software and Controls Algorithms for different product units.     
  • Develop and manage supplier partnerships with current and prospective new suppliers, working closely with vendors to develop and deliver solutions.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards and protocols applicable to mobile AC/DC voltage systems.
  • Identify new design / innovative ideas for current and future product design architectures.
  • Identify industry trends and standards in the HVAC, automotive industry specifically related to Sensor, Transducers, Solenoids, Actuators, motors, Power Electronics Components, Batteries, Hybrid Drive Systems, and Electrical Actuation Systems
Qualifications:
  • Degree in an Electrical / Electronic / Controls Engineering discipline
  • Approximately 8 - 12 years of experience in design and manufacturing in the industrial, or automotive industry desired.
  • Self-motivated, willing to take initiative, able to function effectively in independent and team-based situations.
  • Must be adept at report writing and presenting technical information to a wide audience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required with good interpersonal skills, able to express concepts and ideas with clarity.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Hands-on experience in Measurement Equipment, Circuit Simulation, and System Simulation Tools.
  • Onsite Experience in US or EU is Preferred
  • The position is based in Bangalore
Key Competencies:
  • Experience in Product Development and Electrical Systems development as per Marketing Requirement Document (MRD), Product Requirement Document (PRD), and Regulatory Requirements (RR)
  • Prior Experience in component qualification programs and new product development in an automotive/ machinery environment is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in developing components like sensors, actuators, solenoids, motors, power converter, batteries, and knowledge of Analog circuits, Protection circuits, Controller hardware is an advantage.     
  • Proficient in Product-Level Electrical system integration, Wiring/Harness knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience in design and debug of embedded microprocessor control systems desired.
  • Knowledge and experience of control systems and software testing and debug an advantage.
  • Ability to manage critical product costs and new product development projects with team members and partners spread across global locations.  
  • Capable of developing and executing test plans, interpreting test data, and developing and driving relevant corrective measures where necessary.  
  • Previous experience in New Product Development (NPD) process, DFMEA, 6 Sigma, are desirable.
  • Knowledge in PLM and Windchill is an advantage
