Job Summary: 
This Service Intern role will be a rotational opportunity to learn our Service business. This individual will report to the Sr. Manager, Regional Growth Team, who is responsible for a broader portfolio of related teams responsible for increasing operational effectiveness for the region’s service business. 

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and lead standard management routine activities pertaining to the RGT Operations Team driving all meetings, measuring metrics, conducting analytics and utilizing an effective visual management system.
  • Conducting process mapping to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of current operations; Review existing and new procedures/controls to identify waste and build plans and organize teams to change. 
  • Work to align existing business processes between the region’s legacy districts
  • Develop, organize, and lead the Service department’s community engagement activities.
  • Fostering culture change by training, developing and coaching employees to adopt lean principles behaviors and follow the principles and practices of OpEx. 
  • Continue to refine the region’s OpEx tools and partner with the Regional Change Agent to enable growth within the department’s Lean Cultural maturity.
  • As required, assist in the implementation and the training of service associates when rolling out new reporting tools.
  • Proficient at delivering training and development in small and large formats.
  • Prepare "business pulse" and financial reports on assigned product/service lines on a regular basis to keep Senior Service Leaders in order to aid them in the management of their respective businesses.
  • Establish and maintain an overall operational calendar for the region’s service department.
  • Establish and maintain a communication plan to ensure leadership and employees are informed about reoccurring business activities and meetings.
  • Partner with the Regional Service Leader and Senior Service Leaders to develop and implement innovate service offerings within our region.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in any applicable program. 
  • Interest in pursuing a career in engineering, marketing, or operations preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent team work skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Sound program management, analysis, problem resolution, teambuilding, judgment and decision making skills.
  • Should have a proven track record of innovative solutions
  • Must be able to travel 35-40% of the time within the region (VA/NC/SC).
