Our Thermo King business is connecting our transport HVAC and refrigeration products and providing digital solutions to help our customers efficiently protect drivers, passengers, and cargo. Using our connected solutions, our customers reduce fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and downtime while increasing the comfort and safety of passengers and shelf life of cargo, including essential cargo like food and pharmaceuticals.
Job Summary:
Trane Technologies is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer in Hastings, Nebraska. This position is responsible for the execution and optimization of quality management programs that assist internal staff, suppliers, customers and partners with initiatives that re-engineer products, processes and methods targeted at achieving company objectives in the areas of quality, delivery, and cost.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for product and process quality for the entire Supply Chain, from supplier to customer, of several product lines; drive effective root cause analysis to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances for all elements of the following:
- Supplier Quality: improve supplier quality by working with procurement, engineering, and suppliers.
- In-house manufacturing: support the manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality and reliability. Support of preventative actions, including poke-yoke and maintenance and calibration planning.
- Customers: championing the reduction of customer complaints; reduce customer DPPM and warranty costs, through engagement of engineering, operations, purchasing and customer service.
- Drive continuous improvement for all elements of the Quality System.
- Drive continuous risk mitigation through risk reduction measures and error proofing practices.
- Benchmark business processes against best-in-class and drive implementation of best practices throughout the organization.
- Support our ISO Quality System to make sure all deliverables are met for customer and regulatory body compliance.
- Monitor and coordinate corrective actions for supplier complaints.
- New Product Development participation and quality thought leadership.
- Lead a small team of individuals to achieve the business results and develop their skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience required (5 or more years, including leading of direct reports).
- Experience in ERP, MRP and MES driven systems (Oracle, EtQ, Ignition).
- Knowledge of various quality system methodologies; Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc. is a must.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
