High-level Scope of Job:
The Senior Benefits Analyst, plays a valuable and critical role in the health and welfare benefit plan, defined contribution and defined benefits administration. The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for ensuring effective, efficient and accurate administration across our multiple benefit platforms (Pension, 401k, H&W and Leaves) by maintaining a thorough understanding of the plan, process and procedures. To include supporting annual compliance requirements; as well as, monitor day to day benefit procedures and audits.
Using analytical, organization and communication skills this position is responsible for providing subject matter expertise related to the administration of the plans, compliance, vendor support and project management; as well as, employee communication and education on total rewards benefits. The position will also conduct research and data analysis regarding various aspects of the benefit plans, identify and develop process improvements, and lead project management initiatives.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Function as subject matter expert for all benefits administration as well as HRIS systems 
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and plan administrators/networks/enrollment vendor regarding a range of routine to moderately complex data issues/problems 
  • Partner with HRIT on interface between the HRIS and Benefit systems (iSelect) 
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create and manage large data sets using VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables to include performing periodic data audits to maintain data integrity between PeopleSoft system and vendor systems 
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to implement improvements related to plan administration 
  • Lead in the implementation of any system or process enhancements to include assisting with development, testing, and implementation of any benefit related software programs and updates 
  • Ensures compliance and data integrity with IRS and DOL guidelines and applicable regulatory governing; as well as, knowledge of federal, state, and specifically tax laws and implications with respect to benefit and salary plans. 
  • Create documentation for new processes and able to accurately update existing documentation based on enhancements made to existing processes 
  • Lead or support plan audit work (SOX, SAS70 reviews, Valuation) 
  • Responsible for Compliance Filings (Report annually on Fair Contribution, HIRD for Mass, RDS, SARs, AFNs, 5500’s) 
  • Ability to define and solve problems by using judgment and critical thinking, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. 
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all jobspecific training requirements in a timely fashion
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
  • CEBS certification or classes in retirement plans recommended 
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state benefit and tax laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, and FMLA 
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Verbal/Written) 
  • Ability to organize, set priorities, work independently and complete multiple projects/task with established deadlines 
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality 
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word 
  • Data Analytics and problem/root cause analysis experience required
