Position Summary:

The Accountant, Fixed Assets & Cash will report to the Team Leader, Fixed Assets & Cash and will play an important role in supporting the establishment of and being a key member of the Fixed Assets & Cash Accounting team at the India Shared Services Center based in Bangalore, India.  This fixed assets & cash accountant support the migration of fixed assets & cash accounting activities throughout EMEA and North America to the India Shared Service Center.  Upon completion, the Bangalore location will be the global hub of a network of service centers that operate under generally standard processes and procedures and utilize Oracle’s ERP software solution.

The position will require process expertise related to shared service center operations.  This fixed assets & cash accountant will be part of a team of professional accountants performing accounting services in the areas of:

  • Fixed asset management including additions, disposals, depreciation and CIP
  • Cash management including review of automated cash transactions, journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • FX hedge accounting
  • Sub-ledger reconciliation and management including AR & AP
  • Manual billing for trade receivables

The position will require business partnering with our business units and effective communication across functions and with senior finance management and global operations.

 This intercompany accountant will be responsible for providing accounting services including continuous improvement of processes and internal controls as well as contributing to the overall vision for Company’s shared services evolution.  

Responsibilities:

This fixed assets & cash accountant will be responsible for providing accounting services including continuous improvement of processes and internal controls as well as contributing to the overall vision for Company’s shared services evolution.

  • Supporting the Team Leader, Fixed Assets & Cash in the establishment of the fixed assets & cash accounting team in the India Shared Service Center including hiring and training staff, implementation of standard business processes and governance for identified processes in-scope as documented in our finance blueprint.
  • Deliver successful transition of fixed assets & cash accounting finance processes from the local finance teams in the United States and Ireland (and other locations as required) to the India Shared Service Center.
  • Ensure performance to targeted Global Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to align with delivery of desired service level to the business.
  • Integrate fixed assets & cash accounting finance processes of new acquisitions into the India Shared Service Center.
  • Work closely with teams across the shared services organization and in the business lines to identify and implement opportunities for efficiencies (including the ERP IT team).

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with a CPA or Chartered Accountant certification or other similar qualification.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including 2 years of experience in global shared service center environment.  
  • Knowledge of financial systems skills and reporting tools (experience with PeopleSoft a plus).
